Dear Member,
On behalf of the Tournament Committee and the entire Regatta Bay staff, I would like to invite you to Regatta Bay Golf & Yacht Club on October 14th, 15th, and 16th for the 2021 Men’s Member-Guest Golf Tournament.
This is our most anticipated event of the year, the championship golf course and challenging format of five flighted, head to head matches, is sure to provide a competitive and enjoyable week of golf. This combined with the carefully planned social events will serve as the perfect setting for renewing old friendships and forming new ones alike.
This year the event Entry fee will be $1,000 per team. This entry fee will include Tournament gifts for each player, $400 Titleist/Footjoy Shopping experience in addition to all food and beverages at the Thursday Welcome Dinner and Saturday Awards Dinner for both players and spouses. Additionally, this entry fee will cover Breakfasts, Lunches, and on Course Beverages before and during play Friday and Saturday for players.
A team MUST have a a course handicap within 10 shots of each other. You can play with a partner with a larger differential, however the higher of the two players will be restricted to compete to a handicap no larger than 10 shots of his partner.
All members will compete from the tee most used to determine their course handicap. Guests under 55 will play the white tees. Guests over 55 will play gold tees, and guest over 70 will play gold/green tees. Players are require to have an established handicap by October 1st.
This year there will be a $200 per team optional Flight Pool paying out the top three teams in each flight 50%, 30%, 20%. Any team not purchased will go up for auction at Thursday Night’s Party. All flight winners and one Wild Card Team, the team scoring the most points on day two, will compete in the Shootout. This year there will also be a Ghost Flight winner that will earn a spot in the Shootout. The Ghost Flight will consist of every team in last place within their respective flight after the completion of day one. The highest day two total will determine the Ghost Flight winner. Any ties will be broken by head to head matches, if still tied a shootout will take place on the 18th green. Also, there will be a live pre-Shootout Calcutta, and all Shootout money will be completely funded by this Calcutta, organized by the Tournament Committee. There will be a minimum starting bid of $400 per Shootout team, however, the owner of each team must allow that team to buy “up to” half of the team’s purchased price.
Additionally, this year, the Tournament Committee is looking for three $500 event sponsors for the weekend, which will fund prize money for the Bass Ackwards Shootout, the Off The Deck Shootout, and the Putt For Cash kick off. If you would be interested in being an event sponsor, please email me at your convenience.
This year we expect a fast sell out, so get all your information in ASAP. You MUST fill out the entry information in its entirety in order to be added as an official entry. You may make edits to your entry after completed up to October 1st. Any withdraws after the October 1st deadline will result in a $250 fee. The first 48 entries fully completed will reserve their team’s spot in the field.
